THE PHILOSOPHY BEHIND SUSTAINABLE RANCHING
A growing and increasingly affluent world population is placing greater pressure on the global agricultural industry to produce sufficient affordable food from a finite resource base. This has necessitated a much more scientific farming approach in a number of sectors, not least of which is the livestock ranching industry. Practical large-scale ranching experience and detailed research over a period of spanning almost three decades, world-renowned Southern African cattle rancher and livestock consultant Johann Zietsman has developed a system of sustainable livestock production that has been proven - in many instances - to double profit/ha and return on capital invested relative to the best conventionally managed ranches in a number of countries. This website aims to bring about a mindshift and improvement in the profitability and sustainability of the livestock ranching industry through the transfer of scientifically-proven knowledge, the education of farmers in this new methodology and aid in the implementation of these new concepts.
